About PVN
Organisation & Vision
Expo-Nations is an initiative of The Place of Victory for All Nations (PVN). PVN is a multi-national church and charity organization in the City of Belfast. With a diverse membership, we understand the need for and importance of community cohesion in a fast growing cosmopolitan city. The Expo-Nations Committee is made up of people from at least 15 different nations.
One of our objectives is engaging and working with different community groups in and around Belfast to promote community cohesion, peace and unity in the city. Expo-Nations was therefore launched in 2009 to celebrate the diversity of cultures in Belfast. It is a colourful celebration of the city’s rich cultural diversity and it provides an opportunity for people from different nations to learn more about each other in a fun-filled and relaxed atmosphere.
Why Expo-Nations?
Expo-Nations was launched against the backdrop of the racial tension in the city of Belfast in 2009. It is a celebration of the diversity of cultures in Belfast and aims to assist in building community cohesion through the engagement of local communities.
It is a well established fact that ignorance is one of the major causes of prejudice in any community and in a bid to help dispel any cultural ignorance among the communities in and around Belfast, PVN has put together a series of events aimed at engaging local communities giving them an opportunity to showcase their own culture and learn about other cultures.
If you would like to get involved in the showcasing of your nation’s culture, please get in touch to see how we might be able to work together.
